Illuminating the historic Washington Monument is a Baltimore holiday tradition that has been around for decades. The night includes caroling, food and good cheer. Fireworks cap the evening marking the official start of the holiday season. This year, Mount Vernon Place Conservancy is hosting this iconic seasonal celebration on December 5.

Did you know? The Washington Monument is open to the public. The gallery is free. Climbing the 227 steps to the for timeless views of the city of Baltimore is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Proceeds support the Conservancy.
