Downtown Partnership Announces Newest Board Members at Annual Meeting

October 10, 2024 (Baltimore, MD) – The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore (DPOB) is pleased to announce appointments to both of its leadership Boards, the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore Board and the Downtown Management Authority (DMA) Board.

The DPOB Board of Directors is the administrator of the DMA Agreement with Baltimore City, serving as the membership and advocacy organization.
Erik Howard serves as the President & Chief Operating Officer of Capital Funding Bancorp, Inc. and President, CFG Bank. For the past 20 years, Howard has been growing and expanding businesses across a diverse portfolio at CFG. Ranging from long-term care, senior housing and multifamily sectors, he has extensive expertise in public and private debt, equity offerings and merger and acquisition structures and financings. Howard has been involved in the financing of more than $7 billion in healthcare and multifamily assets. Before joining CFG, Howard worked for New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation.
Raymone Jackson is the head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Community Investment, and Corporate Responsibility at T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and a trustee of the T. Rowe Price Foundation Board., T. Rowe Price. Jackson carries more than 25 years of investment experience, previously working at Morgan Stanley as the national diversity officer, as well as a 20-year career at Northwestern Mutual, where he held leadership roles in Technology, Corporate Strategy, Field Distribution and Human Resources, leading enterprise diversity and inclusion and campus development.
Anthony Jones Vice President of External Affairs of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst), identifies and fosters strategic partnerships with local policymakers, nonprofit leaders, trade associations and other local, state and federal stakeholders to advance the organization’s mission. Jones collaborates with CareFirst leadership in external relationships and policy work to advance affordable, accessible and equitable healthcare that meets the needs of the community. He also works alongside the executive leadership team to increase CareFirst’s presence in the community and enhance the CareFirst brand. Jones has vast expertise in providing strategic guidance and project management to businesses, labor unions, advocacy organizations and electoral campaigns as well as a background in public affairs. Previously he worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, the City of Baltimore, Health Care for the Homeless and Baltimore City Department of Social Services, among other civic organizations.
Bryce Turner is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and is President of BCT Design Group. He has a passion for design, planning and placemaking, and as such is recognized for being a force in obtaining entitlements and approvals for the firm’s complex retail, commercial and mixed-use projects, Before joining BCT (then Brown & Craig) in 1994, Turner was a Vice President of DDG in Baltimore and he later led BCT’s acquisition of DDG in 2016. Turner recently received the 2024 WaveMaker Lifetime Achievement Award from the Urban Land Institute (ULI) – Baltimore. He is a past Chair of ULI Baltimore and is currently a member of the Advisory Committees of Washington and Baltimore. In 2023 Bryce was named Chair of the National ULI Redevelopment and Reuse Council.
Peter Zanger is a Partner of Assurance Services at RSM, the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market. In his 18-year career at RSM, Zanger has provided auditing, transaction advisory and consulting services primarily for middle market companies including manufacturers, distributors, insurance companies and internationally active businesses. Zanger’s expertise includes multi-entity international consolidations and financial reporting, buy-side due diligence, proration and examination work and IPO readiness for a publicly traded private equity firm.
The DMA Board of Directors oversees the 106-block business improvement district in the heart of Baltimore.
Margaret Evans is the vice president of Healthcare Property Management at Thomas Park, where she develops and implements standard operating procedures resulting in streamlined operations and improved performance. Evans oversees a growing portfolio of medical office buildings (MOBs) from Massachusetts to North Carolina and implements extensive Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) compliance measures. She possesses nearly 15 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, with organizations such as Cushman & Wakefield, Corporate Office Properties Trust, JLL and Liberty Property Trust. She also serves as the president of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) chapter of Baltimore, where she was elected to represent the owners and managers of all commercial property types in the City, including 143 million square feet of office space that supports over 15,500 jobs and contributes $2.1 billion to the Maryland economy. Evans also serves as a workforce development member on BOMA’s International Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
Dr. Bert O’Malley, President and Chief Executive Officer of the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), oversees UMMC’s downtown and midtown campuses, and other community locations in Baltimore. Dr. O’Malley is an internationally renowned surgeon and innovator and has served in multiple leadership positions at UMMC throughout his career, including a Professor of Surgery and Chief Otolaryngology and the Associate Director of the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC). Dr. O’Malley oversees the flagship medical center of the 13-hospital University of Maryland Medical System, responsible for $2.5 billion in gross revenue.
