Illuminating the historic Washington Monument is a Baltimore holiday tradition that has been around for decades. The night includes caroling, food and good cheer. Fireworks cap the evening marking the official start of the holiday season. This year, Mount Vernon Place Conservancy is hosting this iconic seasonal celebration on December 4.

Ring in the Holiday Season

The celebration, now organized by Mount Vernon Place Conservancy, is taking place Thursday, December 5, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Food vendors & performers have been announced, so plan your visit now. 

In 2015, the Mount Vernon Place Conservancy led a multi-award winning renovation on the Washington Monument.

Mount Vernon Place Conservancy has funded and cared for the monument and surrounding park spaces for many years.

Did you know? The Washington Monument is open to the public. The gallery is free. Climbing the 227 steps to the for timeless views of the city of Baltimore is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Proceeds support the Conservancy.
