Dining in Downtown Baltimore
There’s no better time to Taste and Experience Downtown Dining.
From the fine-diner to the comfort-food lover, from the pub-grubber to the bold adventurer, there’s something for every palate in Downtown Baltimore. Area restaurants offer almost every type of cuisine: from Afghani, French, Italian, Japanese, Thai, to American pub food.
To showcase Downtown’s delicious dining options, Downtown Partnership organizes restaurant promotions and food-tailored events throughout the year. The most well-known events include Downtown Baltimore’s Soft Shell Crab Week, and the tremendously popular Baltimore Restaurant Week (co-sponsored by Visit Baltimore). Promotions include monthly emails, events, advertising, and online marketing.
The Partnership also helps area restaurants host events or dining specials to attract new diners and stimulate repeat business. Earlier this year, Charles Street, an area of Downtown long noted for its outstanding restaurants, was hit with heavy construction.
To help counteract the negative effect this was having on area restaurants, The Partnership organized the Charles Street Dining initiative. Through promotions and events that included free happy hours, free lunches, and regional advertisements, we worked to help Charles Street restaurants regain appeal as dining options. With dining, shopping, theatre, and entertainment venues nearby, Downtown restaurants are the perfect springboard to a Baltimore visit or a night out on the town. It’s easy to find convenient and low-cost parking at many Baltimore City garages on evenings and weekends. Click here, to search for parking by location or price. Or, avoid the hassle of parking altogether by using the Charm City Circulator. The free, eco-friendly Downtown bus service started earlier this year. With great parking and transportation options, Downtown dining is more accessible than ever.
